More than a few eyebrows were raised Saturday after the Pennsylvania roster was announced for the 2009 Big 33 All-Star football game. Only five players from the WPIAL and Pittsburgh City league are on the roster, the fewest ever in the 52 years of the game.

Two years ago in 2007, the most players ever from District 7 and District 8 played in the game when 17 WPIAL and City League players were selected. Prior to this season, the lowest number of local players was seven in 2000.
