3rd Annual Kennywood – MSA Sports Pre-Season All Star Football Team

The nominees were determined via the MSA Sports broadcasting staff, with statistics being gathered
and reviewed from the 2009 football season. Voting increased by 50% this year – thanks to all who
participated!

There will be an awards presentation at Kennywood Park on Monday August 2nd at 1:00 pm at the Kennyville Stage area. Prior to the awards presentation, join MSA Sports for the years first broadcast of "This Week in the WPIAL" live at the Kennyville stage from 11:30am – 12:30 pm.

Both the show and the awards presentation will be broadcast live on www.msasports.net and will be available for on-demand listening after the show concludes.

As time ticks away on July 2010, pro baseball once again owns the spotlight Friday on the MSA Sports Network. The Eastern League road trip continues for the Altoona Curve as they visit Richmond to battle the Flying Squirrels, plus the Washington Wild Things conclude their homestand at CONSOL Energy Park as they face the Lake Erie Crushers in Frontier League play here on the MSA Sports Network.

Owens Gem Wasted in Altoona Curve Loss at Richmond

Curve left hander Rudy Owens turned in one of his best outings of the 2010 season hurling 6.0 innings, allowing just a pair of runs on three hits and striking out nine but Richmond Flying Squirrels pitching and timely hitting was better as they secured a 4-1 win on Thursday night at The Diamond.

WPIAL Coaching Changes - Aliquippa Boys and West Shamokin Girls Basketball

One team has a new basketball coach while the other is now in search mode...again. Aliquippa boys basketball has hired a new boys basketball coach while after one successful year, the girls basketball team at West Shamokin is looking for a new coach.

Sonnenberg and Washington Wild Things Blank Lake Erie

Starter Jeff Sonnenberg pitched a complete game, two-hit shutout and faced the minimum 27 batters to help the Washington Wild Things defeat the Lake Erie Crushers 3-0 Thursday night at CONSOL Energy Park.

WPIAL Coaching Change: Seton-LaSalle Girls Basketball

Seton-LaSalle High School has turned to a former Class AAAA girls basketball coach to take over one of the top Class AA programs. Former Peters Township coach Dennis Squeglia has been named the news Rebels girls hoops coach.
