Student Athlete Spotlight - Skyler Eckenrode
|
|
Skyler Eckenrode is a Junior at Penns Manor High School. He is a member of the baseball and varsity football teams.
Since his freshman year, Skyler has been a starter on the baseball team as their centerfielder. Skyler also pitches
for the Penns Manor Comets. Playing for the Comet football team, Skyler holds positions as corner, shares time as
wideout and also serves as the team's long snapper.
For three years he has been a team member of the Clymer Jr. Legion baseball team and was also selected to play in the
2009 State Tournament held in Indiana as well as the 2009 All Star Team.
Skyler's current GPA is 97.5, and he was recently selected as a member of the high school Knowledge Masters team. He
also participates in the French and Varsity Club. Skyler is also active in his church. He has assisted in teaching
Sunday School and Bible School and frequently serves as a lector.
He is a team player who always gives 100% and exhibits a positive and enthusiastic attitude, both in sports and academics.
Skyler hopes to continue to play baseball in college following his high school graduation and is considering a career in
Sports Medicine.

| How to Get Your Student in the Spotlight |
|
|
Balancing sports, schoolwork, and other activities is one of your
child's greatest challenges. We at MSA Sports would like to
spotlight some of these students who do just that — and
do it WELL!
Parents, teachers, family members and friends, we need your help
identifying students to feature in the Student Athlete Spotlight.
Send a photograph of the student, along with some biographical
information. Student bio should be brief (2 or 3 paragraphs) and
include sport played and position, academic and other honors, GPA,
extracurricular activities, and any other information that helps to
showcase the achievements and character of this student athlete.
Once your child is selected we will send you a permission form to
allow us to post the student's picture and profile. Please
use this form to submit a student
for consideration.
