| MSA Sports Network Student Athlete Spotlight |
|
Janie Killian is a senior at Penn Hills High School.
At 6 feet 3 inches Janie plays center and has lettered for
four years as a Lady Indian basketball player. In addition,
Janie played AAU basketball for Tri-State Elite and PA Hoop
Stars. Playing AAU, and traveling throughout the U.S. has
helped Janie sharpen her skills as a player. She was awarded
"Most Outstanding Player" at the All Ohio Nike Classic
Tournament in Columbus, Ohio. Her dedication and accomplishments
on the court also earned her offers to invitation-only events
like the Adidas Showcase in Atlanta, GA and the NCAA Certified
Women's camp in North Carolina.
Janie has remained dedicated to her studies despite her
active basketball schedule. She has earned honor roll
distinction for four years.
Outside the classroom Janie has done volunteer work with
special needs children in the Friends to Friends bowling
league. Because of her involvement with special needs
children, Janie has decided to pursue a degree in
Elementary/Special Education.
Janie has been offered a scholarship to St. Francis University
in Pennsylvania and plans to attend there upon her graduation
from Penn Hills this June.

| How to Get Your Student in the Spotlight |
|
Balancing sports, schoolwork, and other activities is one of your
child's greatest challenges. We at MSA Sports would like to
spotlight some of these students who do just that - and do it WELL!
Parents, teachers, family members and friends, we need your help
identifying students to feature in the Student Athlete Spotlight.
Send a photograph of the student, along with some biographical
information. Student bio should be brief (2 or 3 paragraphs) and
include sport played and position, academic and other honors, GPA,
extracurricular activities, and any other information that helps to
showcase the achievements and character of this student athlete.
Once your child is selected we will send you a permission form to
allow us to post the student's picture and profile. Please
use this form to submit a student
for consideration.
