Student Athlete Spotlight - Kristen Hawkins

A senior at Elizabeth Forward High School, Kristen Hawkins has maintained a 3.875 average throughout high school while playing both varsity softball and basketball as well as playing on a tournament softball team in the summer. In her junior year, Kristen stepped up to pitch for the high school team having always been one of the best catchers in the area.

Kristen has helped lead her team to 4 consecutive section championships and has been selected as the McKeesport Daily News Softball Player of the Year 2008. She has also been selected to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette's All Star South Team for the past 3 years.

Kristen was selected earlier in the year to the McKeesport Daily News "Fab 15" Girls Basketball Players as well as the Pittsburgh Post Gazette's Basketball All Section Team. This past basketball season, Kristen led her team in points, rebounds and blocks and was key in helping the team get a piece of section title.

In her spare time, Kristen assists in coaching younger girls in the local rec league and umpires as well. Kristen will be attending the University of Virginia on a softball scholarship in the fall.

How to Get Your Student in the Spotlight

Balancing sports, schoolwork, and other activities is one of your child's greatest challenges. We at MSA Sports would like to spotlight some of these students who do just that - and do it WELL!

Parents, teachers, family members and friends, we need your help identifying students to feature in the Student Athlete Spotlight. Send a photograph of the student, along with some biographical information. Student bio should be brief (2 or 3 paragraphs) and include sport played and position, academic and other honors, GPA, extracurricular activities, and any other information that helps to showcase the achievements and character of this student athlete.

Once your child is selected we will send you a permission form to allow us to post the student's picture and profile. Please use this form to submit a student for consideration.
