| MSA Sports Network Student Athlete Spotlight |
|
Matt Metcalf is a well-rounded student athlete and quite simply a hard working kid. He
truly is a self made player. From Matt's freshman year to his senior year he has dropped
nearly 35 pounds and turned himself into a player who was recognized last season by the
AP as a second team all state selection. Matt is ranked second all time highest scorer
for Our Lady of the Scared Heart and currently sits on 1522 points He also owns school
records for points in a year (606), 3 pointers in a year (100), 3 pointers in a game
(8), and 3 pointers for a career (256).
Academically Matt is a straight A student and is a member of the National Honor Society.
Throughout his time playing he has been assigned to tutor many other players with
outstanding results. Matt also has spent time working at summer camps for small children.
Matt's father is a military man and has missed a lot of Matt's career. Although he
missed Matt's entire sophomore year, as well as bits and pieces of the past 2 years,
Matt keeps a positive attitude and his father enjoys hearing of Matt's successes
here at home.
Matt plans on majoring in biology in college, and possibly attending medical school afterwards.

| How to Get Your Student in the Spotlight |
|
Balancing sports, schoolwork, and other activities is one of your
child's greatest challenges. We at MSA Sports would like to
spotlight some of these students who do just that - and do it WELL!
Parents, teachers, family members and friends, we need your help
identifying students to feature in the Student Athlete Spotlight.
Send a photograph of the student, along with some biographical
information. Student bio should be brief (2 or 3 paragraphs) and
include sport played and position, academic and other honors, GPA,
extracurricular activities, and any other information that helps to
showcase the achievements and character of this student athlete.
Once your child is selected we will send you a permission form to
allow us to post the student's picture and profile. Please
use this form to submit a student
for consideration.
